Question: Why do cats sleep so much?
Answer: Because we feel like it. (Duh!)
We need to conserve our energy just in case something major happens all of a sudden, like when the doorbell rings. You never know what might happen when the doorbell rings.
I have a question for you: If you could take a nap right now without any guilt or worry that you should be doing something else, wouldn’t you? I bet a lot of heads nodded “yes” and a lot of paws went up in the air on that one. You would if you could, you say. Well, why can’t you? I mean, really – are you seriously trying to find time for a nap, or do you want to be tired?
Mom is always complaining to us cats, “I’m tired you guys!” So I don’t understand why she doesn’t just take a nap with me. If you’re sleepy, sleep. If you’re hungry, eat. If you want to have fun, play. Things don’t have to be so complicated. I really, really don’t think they do. Stretch out and take a cat-like nap for a few minutes. You’ll feel so much better and you’ll be ready for whatever happens when the doorbell rings.
‘Scuse me. Time for a snooze.
